Privacy Policy

Who we are

Swaree (“Swaree,” “we,” “us”) is a group coordination app for opening a plan to a private crew and letting members claim a spot or RSVP. This policy covers the Swaree iOS app and this website. It explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account. An identifier from Sign in with Apple, the name you set, an optional email (Apple may relay a private @privaterelay.appleid.com address), and an optional profile photo.
• Content you create. The crews, events, RSVPs, claims, notes, and event locations you add in the app.
• Device & notifications. A push notification token so we can send alerts you opt into, and your device's time-zone offset so reminders fire at the right local time.
• Location. Only the place you actively search for or pick when setting an event's location. We do not track your location in the background or in real time.
• Contacts. If you choose “invite from contacts,” the selection happens on your device and is used only to open Messages with your invite link. Your contacts are never uploaded to our servers.

We practice data minimization: we collect only what is necessary for the core features you use, and we ask for a permission (notifications, contacts, location search) only at the moment you use the feature that needs it.

How we use your information

• Operate the core service: show your crews and plans, let people claim or RSVP, and keep the live count accurate.
• Send the notifications you have enabled (a new plan, a spot opening, a reminder, an event change).
• Keep Swaree secure and prevent abuse.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it. We rely on your use of the app and the permissions you grant as the basis for this processing, and you can withdraw most permissions at any time (see Your rights).

What other members can see

People in a crew can see your name, your photo, and your RSVP or claim status on that crew's plans. They cannot see your contacts, your location, or crews you have not shared with them.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of service providers to run the app, and we require that they protect your data to the same or an equal standard as described in this policy:

• Supabase — hosts and serves app data (your account, crews, events, RSVPs, and notifications).
• Apple — provides Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications to your device.

These providers process data on our behalf to operate Swaree. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

How we protect your data

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Access is governed by row-level security, so members can only read the crews and plans they belong to, and changes that must be race-safe (like claiming a spot) run through controlled server functions. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deleting removes your profile, your RSVPs and claims, and the crews you created. This is permanent and cannot be undone.

To withdraw consent for notifications, mute a crew inside the app or turn notifications off entirely in iOS Settings. You can also email us to request deletion of your data.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You can:

• Access or correct your information by editing your profile in the app.
• Delete your account and data via Profile → Settings → Delete account, or by emailing us.
• Control notifications with per-crew mute in the app, or in iOS Settings.

To make any other request, email us using the address below and we will respond as required by law.

Children's privacy

Swaree is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We operate from the United States and process data there. If you use Swaree from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above, and significant changes may also be highlighted in the app.
